What is a Podiatrist?
A podiatrist,
also called a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine, is a specialist who
provides medical diagnosis and treatment of the foot, ankle and
lower leg. The Podiatrist has undergraduate medical school training,
and attends graduate school for a doctorate degree in podiatry.
Podiatrists are required to take state and national exams, as
well as be licensed by the state in which they practice.
What
kind of insurance plans are accepted?
Our practice participates in Medicare, Blue Cross/Blue
Shield and other private insurance groups. We will be happy to
electronically file these claims for you. Any co-pays are due
at time of service. For your convenience, we accept cash, credit
cards and personal checks.
How soon will I be able to book an
appointment?
Most times we are able to schedule an appointment
during the same week. Emergencies can usually be scheduled the
same day if necessary. Some emergencies include, swelling, pain,
discharge of pus, redness, fever or red streaks from the affected
area. These could be signs of infection.
What if surgery is necessary?
Most foot and ankle problems can be successfully treated
by conservative methods. If surgery becomes necessary, many of
these procedures can be performed under local or local IV anesthesia at
an outpatient surgical center.
Do you have any facilities on site?
Yes, we have an X-Ray machine, Laser Equipment, the ability to
do Ultrasound Therapy and a Cryopen Surgical System for warts.
Do you take Credit Cards?
Yes, we accept Visa, Mastercard and Discover.
